B1A4, Shogo Yagani & Yuka Chocomoo are all involded in a Fake Tokyo.

Today I found out about Yuka Chocomoo in the weirdest way possible. CNU and Baro took some photos here and here at this event called “Candy Pop-Up Shop Opening Party” seems it is a pop-up show (which are infact like on trend nowadays). I found information on all the parts and people on the photos so I’m going to talk about them in order. Did some research. Yey internet.

Anyways Candy (the pop-up shop) is a Japanese shop that along with Sister another Japanese shop are part of FakeTokyo.com another… shop/brand. FakeTokyo is runned by a guy named Shogo Yagani (Yaga). Yaga is from Shibuya, Tokyo. This is Mr. Shogo Yagani.

Back to the story… Shogo Yagani is doing this pop-up shop in Korea to promote his shop Candy. I am sure that via his shops Candy & Sister he has provided clothing and accesories to many… many coordi-noonas and therefore Korean idols. So he is part of what is hot and trendy right now in Asia. If an idol haves it every one wants it. But they are fun and unique items so it is all good in the fashion industry. Thats why B1A4 was at the event. Even BoA said hi at their pop-up in Gangnam with her crew to support them. They are part of this trendy fashion that is moving along Asia that is actually born in Japan. You can read about FakeTokyo here(Shogo Yagani photo was taken from here also check candy’s twitter & instagram)
Now lets bring in Yuka Chocomoo to the equation. She took photos with the boys at the event… but what was her roll there? Entertainment… artistic entertainment. Chocomoo is a Japanese illustrator whom is currently exposing her work in Manhattan, NY. I went through her instagram account after following her and she even haves a photo with artist/photographer JR (he is french). JR works are awesome, unique and enormous. You can check that via his instagram (where I found about him worth the following). So with that said she is getting quite popular not only in Japan but overseas.

After looking to some of her illustrations it was more than clear to my why the boys had to be there besides all the promotion and support to the brand. Her illustration style is just the same of their latest album and comeback concept. They where influenced by her art along with Shogo Yagani fashion sense. B1A4 spent a lot of time in Japan last year and since they debuted they have been wearing top young and unique brands from Japan.
Her illustrations are black and white (haven’t seen anything in color from all the photos I saw on her blog. She uses free hand illustrations nothing is done by mold just at the moment and fill the white space with a lot of detail. Which is something that I love doing. You can see a little of Basquiat there. Also bold lines nothing straight all turned and round with text all over sending a hidden messages along the illustration. After seen her works I kind of fell in love with it and I’m looking forward to see more of her works.
She was featured a few days ago in the website/magazine called the Quiet Lunch and they made an article  about her exposition at New York here. If you want to know more about here you can visit her blog which is full of her amazing artworks, clothing, collaborations with other artists and her works with different magazines. To stay updated on her right here right now issues and movements go to her twitter or instagram.
Hope you nejoyed this post and the photos. (photos taken from QuietLunch and Sweetstreetla)

Around Ponce y el Museo De Arte

Ponce… I’m gonna be honest. I’ve mixed feelings about this town. STILL it haves awesome places to visit. I’m gonna cover 3 of them. We where starving since we left early in the morning from Carolina and it was already 12PM so We had to eat something. Walking around with a cousin and her friend we found Dulce Fruta Bistro. This Bistro/Cafe is a hidden gem on the old side of town (what we call el pueblo).
I am so happy we found this place. Oh my GOD. The scrambled eggs felt like I was the one that made it so yes it was PERFECT. The coffee amazing strong sweet full of flavor. The apple juice I was expecting Motts apple juice but no… they just get the apple, grind it pour it on a glass and there you have REAL apple juice. The service you better leave a good tip cause the guy (who ever you are) was awesome. Very polite and talked with us about random things from coffee to las mascaras they have hanging on the walls. The place is small but really nice and extremely well kept. Loved the place and if I go again to Ponce soon I’ll totally go there to have breakfast.

Next stop was the plaza and the Ponce Cathedral. All towns in Puerto Rico have a church and a fountain but this Plaza haves el Parque de Bombas too. Below are photos from the church and the fountain. When you go to Ponce know that you will see lions everywhere (statues or anything) to the point you think you just went to a safari.

Now to end the day we finally hit the main attraction and reason for this trip the Museo de Arte de Ponce. Founded by dearest Luis A. Ferré and inaugurated on 1965. It is one if not the largest art museum in the Caribbean and one of the best.

The museum contains one of the most important pre-Raphaelite collections in the Western Hemisphereholding some 4,500 pieces of art distributed among fourteen galleries It is the only museum in Puerto Rico accredited by the American Association of Museums.

There you have more info on the museum. They gave multiples expositions and galleries. One of the most impressive ones for me was Emilio Sanchez Font exhibition. The lines and shadows on his works are  so clean and amazing. The details, forms and the patterns are splendid. Incredible art work. I posted some of my favorite works from him here. There are a lot more at the museum so if you can check it out do so.

My favorite part of the visit was seen Treppe by David Schnell and Flaming June by Fredric Leighton.

The $119.9 Million Scream

Edvard Munch‘s The Scream sells for record $119.9 million at Sotheby’s auction. Starting bid price tag was $50 million. The bid lasted 12 minutes and it made history. This is the most expensive art piece in history and it is just 1 of the remaining 4 of the series. The owner said he would help build a museum and some other stuff on Norway so in the end it is all good. Read the full story here.

Still $119.9 million is like a lot of money and it makes you wonder Who the HELL bought the painting? If he/she can waste/spend that amount of money I am sure they can do a lot more for the Arts than buying and keeping safe masterpieces which is good but what is the use of keeping all this if the future generations wont even bother in knowing about them.

This have always been one of my favorites paintings and it made me happy to read this news cause there is still people that enjoy it no matter what the meaning or purpose of owning one of this is… I think it is great that people are still up to pay huge amounts of money. It also makes me wonder if the artist knew how much their pains and agonies of those days are worth it now. This artists most of them had like REALLY troubled lives and we are just here sitting enjoying their pain while we somehow relate to their suffering. We embrace that suffering when we go to the museum and try to figure out this kind of paintings.

CNU B1A4 (wallpaper)

Lately I’ve been inspired by this kid name CNU. He is only 20 and I find him so adorable and cute. The whole group (B1A4) is cute. I am fangirling really bad with this dongsaengs. Anyways saw this picture on the internet and loved it. As a proud BANA… (name for their fandom) I said omo shin dongwoo oppa looks awesome there I could make a wallpaper. Now here it is. I hope you Banas enjoy it. B1A4 Lets Fly!

Yes I even added the airplanes. A true Bana will understand this. Ne!
I did a series of drawings for example the ribbons, headers, the writing on the right with his name and the airplanes I drew all that then went to magical photoshop.
You can download the 1280×800 wallpaper from here.

Queen B!

Yes she is back after an extremely long vacation. The last time that I remember I did something about her was back in 2008 a drawing called On the Throne so it was about time that she showed up. Both drawings were done with color pencils and markers on 5.5×7.5 in cards. This will be for sale. If you are interested do contact me. Stay tune the queen will be around more often.
