Out of this Galaxy…

After three long years I finally got a new phone last week. I bought the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. Such a long name… anyways the phone is awesome. I have and iPod that I could’t live with out it cause my actual phone the HTC Touch was to outdated for now days social and internet needs. It was great for two years ago but now days it is all about geo-tagging taking photos, sharing media and been all fast. I couldn’t do that with my old phone. 

Its been a week with it and I’ve to tell you that it was so worth it to spend the money on this. The camera is awesome it haves 8MP on the back and 2MP on the front also a blinding flash. The videos look so freaking awesome cause the resolution is pretty amazing. The widgets are all cool. It doesnt come with a all the kéyboards like the Apple but i already fixed that issue. The apps I actually have the ones I NEED. I can do video call via google. Already tried it with a friend and it worked. LOL!

The music I upload only the ones I want for now until I get a 32g card. I’m using my old 4g on it for now. Works like a charm. Still I am not even sure if I should get the card cause I want to use my iPod it only haves a year. I hardly ever touch the iPod now… I actually use it just for the music now and take pictures to upload to instagram cause I can do that from the Galaxy yet. 

Other thing that I love is that everything is big on the screen the letters numbers and everything is so good to my eyes. I felt I was going blind with the HTC. Now I don’t have that problem. The battery life lasts a lot too it is quite impressive. I also can put all my oppas on the screen on a slide show I also have my cat there… lol! Anyways overall it was a great buy. I know this isn”t a techy enough review but more a user review.

I’ve gone Google

Back on march Google Apps was giving away free stickers. I took advantage of the give away and ordered mine. I got the I’ve gone Google and This Laptop has gone Google. They are so simple and nice. When i came back from US I got them on the mail. So a total win situation. Even when the giveaway was pretty short you can still acquire the stickers of ‘google gear’ on their page.

Phones, Twitter, Pets and Me.

I will talk about some subjects like twitter, phones and pets. Yes they all have something in common.. that is me.

1. Twitter DOS & naps
   Yesterday as we all now know twitter went down of service for some hours. I dont know how many but some say that two hours. Anyways that aint important. The thing is that I never ever in my life have taken a nap. Well maybe when I was back in kindergarden i did took naps. Never been a nap person I should but no I am not. So what to do when twitter is down… nap. Yes I took a nap. I just noticed that Söndag was sleeping on mah bed [as always] and I decided to join her and I crashed there. Then when I woke up I was proud of myself I just had a nap. It felt great. I hope twitter crashes more often so it gets me on the getting a nap mode again.

   I know it shouldn’t take twitter to fail for me to take a nap but it worked. People on the networks went crazy trying to log in to twitter. It was like mayhem even the news reported this like a breaking news. A couple of months ago NO ONE cared about twitter but celebrities rolled in and now everyone haves one. All the twitter applications didnt even worked. It was like many said the end of the world. That is even hilarious. Just because twitter went down people went crazy I don’t even want to imagine them when on a real crisis. Geez.. ! Makes you wonder of the human capability to survive now days.

2.  Ouh! the price of staying connected.
   To make things “worst” my mobile phone screen aint working. I own a HTC Touch that for a few days was giving me “problems” with the screen but yesterday it totally stopped working. Now I have to go to Sprint and see what they can do for mah mobile phone. I am paying the guarantee thing but I think that they will drop the refurbished crap all over this issue. Meaning I might have to spend $50 – $75 that I could totally use on my next week vacations. Ouh! the price of staying connected.

   Also my dad tried to “fix” the phone line of the house but he just messed it up. Now the wireless phone dont work. We have an old phone so that is our salvation but I cant hear it so I made the proper calls to the people that actually need to know about the ruin line and told them to call mah sister in case of an emergency cause with no house phone or mobile phone I like cant be reached. Ouh! the price of staying connected.

3. Pet Vactions, Expences & Hotels.
   Jet Blue and all the major airlines charge $100 taking your pet with your each way. You also have to take some important papers with you. Go to your vet doc tell him you are traveling with your pet and he will do the honors of making that possible. I cant afford that shit. Cool! Well I was about to leave my baby alone by herself. But now thanks to my beloved grandmother that offered to pay her stay if a found a good place. God I always loved her and I never expected of her to do this for me but it seems that she loves Söndag too much. That makes me happy and sad at the same time. Grandma had a dog named Chispi and he died on an car accident. Someone killed him. So I think that is why she is so attached to her.

   Anyways I found a good place near my home. It is called Clinica Veterinaria Villamar in Isla Verde. They will charge me $10 the night and I have to bring her food. I will be out for 16 days so it will be $160 her stay. Which it might seem not so different but if you think about it you will see it is a huge difference. Travel was $100 each way and I’ve to buy food, litter, etc so in total it could turn out to be like $300 easily. Hey you never know, right. Well thats the deal she is happy I am happy Grandma wont be worried so we hit the jackpot.

Since last October I got an HTC Touch with data plan. Since then I’ve been able to really keep updated about almost everything. Since I am twitter lover I have been using lots of twitter clients. Here I will talk about it.

• Twitter Mobile – is twitter on mobile webpage. It works if you are into only reading your friends twits. Not good for replying or doing what you would like to do like favorite, keep track of conversations etc. Sad thing is that being the original page of the whole twitter movement it doesnt let you do any of the cool things like sharing pics.
• TinyTwitter – This was the first app I found for me it was the real thing, Later on it froze too much & made me loose lots of valuable information because it didn’t updated frequently. Somehow it also burned my battery fast.
• Twikini – If you have WinMo [WindowsMobile] you should have this one right away. At first it didnt let you do lots of things but now you are able to do almost everything here. You can see/reply DM and reply to any other twit on your stream. It updates every 5min [well that is what I choose]. The themes are good and none of the others twitter applications lets you change themes. If you are listening to something on your media player on your WinMo it will twit itself to your feed [note: if you dont want to feel like a spammer turn it off [that is what I did ‘sorry guys for the constant music’]. Other things you can do is delete messages, retweet, favorite, view other people streams, etc] Lowside of this is that now they are only letting you use it as a 14 days trial version. But they have other cool options if you want to keep it so check it out it is worth the try very much. It also makes a sound every time it updates so that you know when it does it.
• Slandr.net – I recomend this to everyone. It is not an application it is a mobile webpage. In this page you can do almost everything. You can view your/other people conversation when you click on the bubbles. If someone is sharing a photo you can actually see a thumbnail of it. It doesnt sound to warn you of the refreshing thing cause it doesnt autorefresh you have to do it on your own. Also if you want to meet/twit/find people on your local area you can search from the page. Also upload your photos directly on slandr on their own photo uploader, the pic then will show up on twitpic. If you want to see the trends you can also do it here. For me this is the most complete one. The only thing that it needs is to auto refresh and it would be the best thing ever.

Conclusion: If you have a Window Mobile phone you MUST have Twikini. If you dont have one or cant afford the Twikini well use the Slandr. This two are my favorites to use back to back. Right now I downloaded the trial and waiting to see what happens cause I would totally love to keep it. I will keep using my backup plan which is Slandr. Enjoy!

Lost & Found.

Yesterday thanks to the help of @Arkhangel I finally found some writings I had on a webpage called diary-x.com. I was originally trying to get thru an msn group I used to have way back in 2002 but it got deleted and there is no way of getting anything back. Pretty sad honestly. I lost three years of valuable information posted there.

Anyways after I imported the contents of the ones I did found I also made screenshots of the pages since that was like my first html usage all done by me. I was so proud back then about it. In those days I used to write “poems” but now I just can’t do that. sadly.

This I’ve Learned: Week no. 42 year 2008

1. This past few weeks I haven’t been around as I should.
2. I didn’t even put the weekly reports of my diet thing.
3. Now I am sick. I am breathing with difficulty cause seems I have the flu.
4. Twitter is not the same anymore. Perhaps my time there is done. Went did what I had to now fly away from there. You know “personas de momentos“. Cada vez que pasa algo lo confirmo.
5. Im loving my cellphone still so it is a keeper
6. Omar the hurricane didn’t showed up after all. Thanks God.
7. I can’t stand the fucking iPhone frenesi. People here are going crazy about that.
8. Last night I had one of the most surprising request ever. Nothing abnormal but surely unexpected. Still it was good.
9. I am a INFP (Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, Perceiving) is an acronym used in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) publications to refer to one of the sixteen personality types.
10. Also I am a Idealistic

About: HTC Touch Keyboards

If you have been following my blog you already know I got a new HTC Touch for Sprint. I already posted about that here Touching is totally good.

On the comments @mrcos asked about the keyboards.

So to make him and other people interested on this matter happy I took photos of my cellphone keyboards and shared them. I did looked them up on the net but didn’t find all the options available or the ones from my cellphone. I did found of the other HTC phones.

I found the Keyboard and the Full QWERTY to be the easiest one to use for me. You will rely a lot on the stylus since the keyboards are quite little. I can type but if you have big hands/fingers you will need it for almost everything. Remember this HTC Touch unit is quite petite. On the Full QWERTY option you will see ABC > T9 option too. I really don’t use this very often but I know people like this option.

The HTC Touch cellphone comes with 7 keyboard options:
